Show Rescuers Balllo Way lo Plane SAN DIEGO, Dec. 28 (UP) Marine and civilian rescue crews Saturday battled their way over jagged rocks and through foot-deep foot-deep mud and snow in an effort to remove the bodies of 12 persons who were killed when a Western Air Lines transport smashed into Cuayapalpe peak on Christmas eve. Foresters at Cameron guard station sta-tion reported Saturday morning that the 80-mlle-an-hour blizzard which had prevented removal of the bodies Friday had abated and that the skies showed signs of clearing. However, many roads were washed away Friday night and the removal crew was attempting attempt-ing to break a new trail to the transport wreckage. A new route will be necessary, Deputy Coroner Dave Bone said. "You'd never get a body, down that hillside to the road." , . |
