Show MARRIED ON UNLUCKYDAY Old Couple Remarried "in Order to Break the Friday "Hoodoo." CUMBERLAND, Md., Jan. 22. David 1 Riley, aged 60, near Newburg, W. Va a few miles west of Oakland, Md., who 1 married Miss Mary E. Pratt forty years j ago, had long been in trouble because I he was married on Friday, "hangman's , day," as he called it. He concluded to be married over again, and secured a license in his wife's maiden name. - I The couple, were then promptly re- married at Kingwood, W. Va., the county coun-ty seat, by the Rev. H. C. Howard of the Methodist church, who did not know j that they already had been man and wife. The Clerk was not personally acquainted ac-quainted with Mr. Riley, and supposed that some widower and widow were going go-ing to get married. The couple have grandchildren, and their eccentric turn has caused much comment. |
