TRADJNG IS LIVELY This morning's call found the market -in much better condition than yesterday,, yester-day,, prices very .generally tending upward, with a strong demand for several good stocks. The volume of business for the morning call alone was more than double the total of yesterday's trading. : ; Daly West, for which $41.60 waa the best bid yesterday, took a big step up-iward, up-iward, handing' down one lot at $42.50 and two others at $42.85, with Indications that the top of the ladder is not yet reached. ' Daly-Judge was also much sought for. . Oa bids of from $10.40 to $10.50 635 shares came out on the regular call, and sixty-five were taken at the same figure on the open board. ' " Daly recovered a few points, but was not in demand, a single lot going at $1.92. Con. Mercur waa weaker, 1500 shares selling down at $1.73 and $1.72, while j Grand Central gave up 100 on a bid of $5.27. I Wabash took a turn upward, selling at from 44 to 4 on the call, and gaining again on the open board, where 2000 found buyers between 45 and 48 cents. May Day, South Swansea, Valeo and Yankee were firm, and did a little business busi-ness without losing any ground. . On the open board 100 Ontario sold at $5.75, California w taken at 28 cents, buyer thirty days, Century released'600 at 90 and 90. and New York received another knocking, 2100 shares coming out between 81 and 80 cents.
