Great interest is being manifested in the Senatorial situation, and the opln-I opln-I ion prevails In some circles that there will be a spirited fight when it comes to the election of a United States Senator. Sen-ator. Is Simply a Walkover. This opinion, however. Is not supported support-ed by facts. There will be, as usual, rfxty-three members in the Assembly, fifty-two of whom are Republicans. Forty-seven of these Legislators are pledged to Apostle Reed Smoot, thus assuring him of election, as only thirty-two thirty-two votes are required to give him his credentials. .All of there forty-seven members were pledged to Apostle Smoot prior to the election of the Legislature," it Is declared. de-clared.
