Pennsylvania and Reading w-efe the only notable ex-ceptions ex-ceptions to the advancing tendency. New Tork Central was lifted over a' point. The demand was languid at first and prices sagged, Amalgamated ran--nlng off 2 points from the opening. Sugar Su-gar was then lifted over 2 and the market mar-ket turned strong. Louisville rose 1 IVt over last night. Missouri Pacific, Atchison, Illinois Central, the New York public utilities and North American also rose a point. Terra Haute gained 3. The market became Quiet again at 11 o'clock. The lightness of selling pressure pres-sure on the market and the continued ease of the money market prompted a renewal of the buying, which carried higher than yesterday. The grangers , ' and Southwesterns were conspicuous. St. Paul rose to 183 and Missouri Pacific Pa-cific to 112. Pullman advanced 4, Louis-' vllle 1 and National Lead, Southern .Pacific and Toledo, St. Louis A Western West-ern stocks a point or more. C. C. C &' St. Louis dropped 6. Bonds were quiet. The market rested for a time without y losing important ground, except for a reaction of about a point in Amalgamated Amalga-mated Copper. Pittsburg. C. C. C. St Bt. Louis preferred lost 10 points, compared' with an old sale, and Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg advanced 4. Sugar rose above 134. The coalers came into active demand, the Readings. Erie and Ontario A Western West-ern rising a point or over. Delaware & Hudson. 2, New Jersey Central 2 and Delaware, Lackawanna St Western $ points. Rock Island also advanced over a point. The rest of the market hard&rfed in sympathy but the movement move-ment was not important. . . The Erles continued to move upward.) making gains of 23 and all the coalers were well sustained. Rock Island Isl-and advanced an additional fraction, but elsewhere there was some evidence of profit-taking. Sugar fell back more than a point and the market became Irregular. Ir-regular.
