' .Sheep-shearing was commenced sev eral days ago and a large quantity of wool is ready to , be shipped. There ' have been no sales recorded, however, as the owners and tlve buyers cannot sgree on a price. I ; The sheepmen want 15 cents for their wool and the buyers refuse to give it. The sheepmen declare they cannot afford af-ford to let their wool go at a lower price for the reason that the winter has been unusually severe on them, and they are loosing a large number of sheep from an affection known as big head. When peace will be declared It Is hard to tell, as the latest reports say , both parties are determined and will make no concession. Shearing Is going on steadily In the southern Utah camps and the clip Is being bought up as fast as it is ready for market. The prevailing prevail-ing price is about 14 cents although some sales have been made at a price as low as Z) cents. There seems to be a feeling among the railroad men, who are about as well posted on the wool sltua- Uon as any one, that there will be a slight advance In the price of Utah wool as the season advances. |
