It is understood that Harry H eagre n, who made such a success of the Salt Palace track last summer, will have charge of the track which will be erected erect-ed by local and outside capital. Hea-gren Hea-gren is not unknown in Ogden, as he gave one or two meets here last summer sum-mer which were entirely satisfactory to the sports and they would like to see him in charge of the track. It Is said by those on the Inside of the movement that Heagren will likely have charge of the Salt Palace track the coming summer, and with him In charge of the Ogden track also the two cities would have a chance to see the best riders In the world, as it would be "possible to give four meets each week, two in each city. The prize list would consist of $1200 or $1500 in purses each week which would Induce the best riders rid-ers to compete. One of those Interested Interest-ed in the plan said that about sixty professional and amateur riders could be kept on the string all summer and the sport would be the .finest seen In any city in the country, while if Heagren Hea-gren succeeds In forming an alliance with the management of the proposed track in Denver, whereby riders will have a chance to ride on any of the three tracks additional interest will be taken In the game. The Ogden fans are hoping the entire plan goes through without a hitch. |
