The medical superintendent's salary was raised from lti6. to HSS.33 1-3 per month. The assistant medical superintendent's salary was fixed at S100 per month; the matron at $40 per month, and engineer from to J100. The attendants receive from $36 to (40 per month. AMERICAN FORK: The spring session of the Utah County Postmasters' association associa-tion will convene in the A. O. U. W. hall, American Fork, on the 16th Inst. Postmaster Post-master Ross, secretary of the association, is sending out Invitations to all of the postmasters in the county, and Postmaster Postmas-ter Peters of American Fork is preparing for a royal entertainment of the brethren,, breth-ren,, and will arrange an ' elaborate spread. MT. PLEASANT: State Fish and Game Commissioner Sharp brought to Mt. Pleasant yesterday for distribution In the streams near by 42,000 brook trout. They arrived in fine shape and were talcn charge of by the City Council and Mt. Pleasant Gun club, who saw them safely planted. .All streams are to be protected and watcilfcd closely for two years. RICHFIELD: Alfred Ackerson of Richfield, slowly convalescing from an almost fatal attack of pneumonia, expects soon to go to California to complete the cure. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Ackerson and his aunt, who has come on from New York. Mr. Ackerson is of the Annie Laurie mill staff at Klmberly. AMERICAN FORK: Violet Padneld. the nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Padfleid of American Fork, was instantly killed yesterday morning, being run down by an Oregon Short Line train while on her way to school. MOSCOW: Senator Heyburn has recommended recom-mended the appointment of Hon. Willis Sweet of Moscow as United States Attorney-General for Porto Rico, to succeed Attorney-General Harlan, resigned. DOWNEY: The Oregon Short Line yes-terday yes-terday purchased from C. B. Handeook a spring of water about two miles from Downey. The water is said to be the best along the line of the railroad. The surplus water wiil be permitted per-mitted to overflow at the tank and will be used for domestic and irrigation purposes pur-poses by residents of Downey.
