Show SWEEPING RAID IS MADE j IN INDIAN TERRITORY Nine Unlawful Sawmills Seized and Two Million Feet of Lumber Confiscated. PARNELL. I. T., April 10. The Indian police, working under orders from headquarters at Muskogee,' seized nine sawmills and 2,000,000 feet of lumber, valued at 8100,000, in the Little River country, near Harrington, I. T. The heaviest heav-iest loser 19 the S. B. Scratch Sawmill company. It ran three mills and had over 1,000.000 feet of lumber on hand. The officers will hold the property until they receive further orders from the Interior department. The department will no doubt order the mills destroyed de-stroyed find the lumber eold. This is the usual custom. The proceeds of the ! sale will be turned over to the Choctaw fund. |
