Show JUDGE AND SHERIFF SUED FOR DAMAGES 1 City Judge Henry S. Tanner and Sheriff C. Frank Emery were each served with a summons to defend a damage suit for $10,000, which was filed I in the District court today. The j plaintiff Is Dr. James Davidson, who alleges that he was forcibly Imprisoned in the county Jail from S o'clock on the afternoon of February 19th until 10 o'clock on the morning of February 21st, without cause or authority. He says he suffered $10,000 damages. This suit is the outgrowth of an action ac-tion brought by Dr. Davidson before Judge Tanner to recover his salary from the Cook Medical company, in which he received judgment and execution execu-tion before the statutory time for appeal ap-peal had elapsed. Dr. Davidson and A. B. Edler. his attorney, at-torney, were ordered to return the amount of Judgment. Upon their failure fail-ure they were declared to be In contempt con-tempt of court by Judge Tanner. The commitment was set aside by Judge Hall. Messrs. Edler and Goodwin & Van Pelt represent Dr. Davidson in the present suit. |
