Show S WAYNE TO BE TRIED House Adopts Articles of Impeachment of Florida Jude. WASHINGTON. Jan. M.-The House of Representatives adopted th twelve srtlcles of impeachment against Judge Charles Swayne of th District court of the Northern District of Florida, which had been d resented by its special committee commit-tee of Investigation. The Speaker was authorized to appoint seven members to presen t the case to the Senate land conduct the impeachment proceedings before that body. - ( This action was the culmination of a debate de-bate which has been in progress for more than a week and which has developed par tisan feeling. The first vote,' that to table the first three articles, thos relating to the falsification and expenses, went against Judge Swayne by the . narrow margin of Ave votes. This was .regarded as the test vote, as the charge regarding expenses was the only one not concurred in by the members o fth committee signing sign-ing th minority report The motion to table thes articles was lost, 160 to 165. Twenty-fouri Republicans voted with the Democrats against tabling tab-ling and three Democrats voted with the Republicans to table. Upon rollcall these three articles were adopted. - Articles 4 and 6, relating to th free use of a private car by Judge Swayne, were made the subject of a separate vote and adopted. Like action followed on articles 8 and 7. which charge him with non-residence in his district. : This was the last rollcall. as articles 8. , 10 and 11, relating to the David Bel-den Bel-den contempt case, and article 12. relating to the O' Nell contempt case were declared adopted on viva voce votes.... , The last time the House voted to pre- sent articles of Impeachment was In 1S76, when It voted the Impeachment of W.
