' ; The petition filed by Miss Catherine Page, 25 South Ninth East street, re-A re-A cently In the District court, asking that she be appointed guardian of Elmer Rose, son of Frank P. Rose, who will be . shot to death on April 22nd for the murder of his wife on Christmas day, has been withdrawn by the petitioner. Miss Page stated last night that she had notified Judge William C. Hall that she would make no further effort to secure se-cure possession of tbe child. At a meeting of the board of directors of the Childrens' Aid and Home-Finding , association, called yesterday afternoon. It was stated that the association would -resist the efforts of Miss Page to secure the child, although it is said that the association had been notified of Miss Page's withdrawal, i Miss Page said last night that she considered the statements of the board of directors as a personal Insult. She was Indignant and asked why the ' board should pass such a statement when It was known that she had withdrawn with-drawn from the contest.
