Jude Diehl occupied the bench of the City court until midnight last night, taking testimony and listening to arguments ar-guments in the case of the city against William Roach, charged with befouling the waters of Parley's Canyon creek. The case occupied the attention of the court all the week and other cases were repeatedly set over to give an opportunity opportu-nity of completing this suit. Judge Diehl decided to get it out of the way last night at all hazards. The afternoon from 3 o'clock until 6 :lt was taken up, and Judge Dlehl then ordered a night session. The Jury went to dinner, rturnlng at 8 o'clock, when the case was gone on with untlti 11:50 o'clock, when all testimony testi-mony wastln and arguments completed. The Jury went to the scene of Roach's alleged offense today, and will be charged Monday morning at 10 o'clock. The case Is the moot bitterly contested of its kind that has yet come before Judge Diehl. |
