Aa the result ef s row at tha Oregon Short Lin freight yards, Charles Gorman ia lying at tha general hospital hos-pital suffering from injuries which may cost him bis life. George Pillsbury ia in tha eity Jail awaiting the outcome of tha injuries of Gorman. From th information gathered by the officers It appears that Pillsbury, Arthur Ar-thur J. McLain, W. M. Byan, O. O. Christensen Christen-sen and G. J. Callely went to tha freight yard about 1 o'clock in th morning partly under the Influence of liquor. It ii claimed that the laat four named mad an attack on F. C. LareiUe, Bight aaaistant yardnsaeUr. Later it ii claimed that Pillsbury went to the yard and atarted a row with young Gorman, Gor-man, a student switchman. From th information in-formation gathered by th officer it appear that Pillsbury knocked Gorman down with lantern, after which ha beat him in terrible ter-rible manner. The flrs men charged with baring created the trouble were arreated by tha officers yesterday yes-terday afternoon. Tha condition ef Gorman la such that h hat not been able to make statement at yet. |
