Show CONFESSION DUE TO CONSCIENCE Young Man Admits Killing Woman Whose Husband Is Accused of the Crime; Saves Innocent One. NEW TOKK, Not. 14. Uneble to oat or sleep, under the prickling of hit conscience, ho says, John Wochince, sged 23, an Austrian Aus-trian baker, last night confessed to Coroner Julius Harburger, according to the latter, that he was the real murderer of Maggie Gordon, 22 rears old, of Pittsburg, Pa., who was found choked to death in her room in No. 15 Second street. The woman's husband. Alex Gordon, who a short time ago came here with his wife from Pittsburg, is in the Tombs prison without with-out bail, where he was sent by Coroner Harburger Har-burger to wait an inquest. The Coroner believed that Gordon killed the woman, although Gordon stoutly denied the charge, in spite of the fact that the evidence evi-dence then secured pointed toward him. Wochince's confession will save him from going go-ing to trial, which might have led to the electric chair. |
