LIFE Emma Pearson of Murray made a desperate attempt to commit suicide near the corner of First South and "West Temple streets shortly after 4 i o'clock yesterday afternoon. Only the ; prompt action of Patrolman Gorge Burton saved the woman's life. She came to the city yesterday from the smelter town. A short time later . her mother, fearing that she might do something desperate, telephoned the police to oe on the lookout for her. She had onljt succeeded in getting a swallow swal-low or two, however, when the officer BBStebed the bottle from Jer. The patrol wagon waa summoned and. the-., woman taken to the emergency hospital, where Dr. Paul administered an antidote, and she wa soon outr of danger.
