Show HOIIONIi MEETING FOR ARBITRATION LAKE MOHONKT N. T., May $0. The iwelfth annual Lake Mohonk conference on International arbitration opened today with an attendance of 300 diplomats, jurists, ju-rists, congressmen, clergymen, educators, editors and philanthropists. The opening address was delivered by Albert K. Smiley. Mr. Smiley was followed fol-lowed by ex-Secretary of, State John tW. Foster. . The following officers were chosen: President, John W. Wood, Camden, Nbr." Benjamin F. Trueblood of Boston gave a review of the past year's work of the conference. This was followed by a discussion of the Csar's recent invitation to the second Hague peace conference, led by Judge J. Stinese of Providence, R- I., In which the omission from the proposed programme of the limitation of reduction of armament was criticised by several speakers. . |
