Show WEATHER BENEFICIAL TO GROWING CROPS Weather during the week was particularly particu-larly favorable for general interests; and a noteworthy fact in this connection waa that the weather changes were quite general gen-eral in all parts of the State. The change from the warm, windy, drought-producing weather of the early part of the week, to the cooler, rainy condition of the closing clos-ing days, was very beneficial thrcaighout t!JDurmge"the bright sunshiny weather of the first few days, the temperature rose considerably, and the average temperature tempera-ture was above normal. The cloudy akles and northwesterly winds of the Utter part of -the- week . combined to produce m-ich lowar temperature. However., the elements of cloud nd wind also prevented prevent-ed the usual night radiation, and consequently conse-quently exceptionally low minimum temperatures tem-peratures were rare; frost being reported only In the elevated dlstrlcta - Light showers of rain were well distributed distrib-uted Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. A general rain set in Saturday morning in the northern portion of the State, and slowly overspread the entire State, southward; south-ward; the principal part of the storm teaching the southern counties Sunday evening. Rain was falling generally over the State Monday morning. Light hall and scattered thunder-storms were mentioned men-tioned in a few reports from the more elevated stations in the northern portion. Large quantities of snow were melted during the fore part of the week, which, together with the rains of the latter portion, por-tion, cattsed a continuation of high water In the streams generally, and some danger dan-ger was reported thereby to bridges, roads and lowlands. |
