Ths annual reunion re-union and dinner of the associate alumni of the General Theological seminary was held last night at the New York Athletic Ath-letic club. The Right Rev. Dr. Coleman. Bishop of Delaware, presided. Dean Hodge of Cambridge university; Dean Hart, -Berkeley seminary, Middletown, Conn.; Dean' DeWltt, Western Theological Theolog-ical seminary, Chicago, and Dean Rob-bins Rob-bins of the General Theological seminary were the speakers. The speeches were flfteen-mlnute talks on "Theological Education." Ed-ucation." Dean DeWItt said in the course of his address: "Men. are honest and men believe certain cer-tain truths. But there are so many uncertain un-certain sounds from men high In the church that It takes two kinds of men to go Into the ministry today the fool or the hero. "The first Is the one that goes Into the ministry because he cannot bold down any other job. and the other the man who is not afraid to say that he believes be-lieves in the birth of Jesus Christ. This Is no time to sing 'Onward, Christian Soldiers.' It is the time to stop and listen to orders from the captain and take his place in the ruptured earthworks earth-works where attack will be made." |
