PAINTERS IN NEW YORE MAY STRIKE NEW YORK, Sept 28 Seven thousand, thou-sand, 'painters connected with the United Brotherhood of Painters, Decorators Deco-rators and Paper gangers, who have presented a ' demand ' to vthe Master Painters' association for an Increase in waxes of 60 cents a day each, threaten a general strike. Plain painters are now receiving $3.60 a day and ornamental orna-mental painters get 14. The demand will be placed before the general arbitration board of the Building Build-ing Trades, with a request that it be conceded within ten days. Secretary George Finders said yesterday: yester-day: . . "The only way the bosses can prevent pre-vent a general strike is by giving us what we ask." .
