Show FREIGHT STEAMER NOW A TOTAL WRECK PACIFIC GROVE. Cal.. Sept. 28. The Pacific Coast Steamship company's compa-ny's freight steamer Gypsy went on the rocks off McAbee's beach, a mile and a half from this city, last night, and is a total wreck. The Gypsy -was a wooden screw steamer of 294 tons, built In San Francisco Fran-cisco in 186S. She was the oldest boat In use by the Pacific Coast Steamship company. The loss is estimated at $22.-500, $22.-500, including $10,000 on the cargo and $12,500 on the vessel. All hands were saved. |
