The question ques-tion of, higher commission . rates ;on grain- trade ii'betag agitated by mern-bers mern-bers of tb''.Xro4 ucJfngV and. will .come-up for discussion -at inseV-ing inseV-ing in the near future of the grain, trade. .It is believed that If rates just double what they are now were adopted adopt-ed Just as much ' business could be done, and the profits would be much greater. ' At present the rates are one-eighth of a cent per bushel for non-members and one-sixteenth of a cent for members.. mem-bers.. It Is proposed to make the new rates one-quarter and one-eighth' of a cent respectively for non-members and members. Now traders get 112.50 per 10,000 bushels for non-members and and $6.50 per 10,000 bushels :for members. mem-bers. At the rates ' proposed they would get t2S per 10,000 bushels for non-members and 113 per 10,000 for members. It Is stated the Produce exchange will seek to get other exchanges here: and elsewhere to agree to raise commission rates on grain trades at the same time. |
