Show FRED WEY WILL BUILD v MODERN FAMILY HOTEL Four-Story Building Wilf Be Erected at First and State Streets This Year. Fred Wey has completed the purchase pur-chase of the Spencer Clawson property ou the southeast corner of State and First streets, and will build a family hotel there this year,- Mr. Wey has been considering several sites for some time and at last decided on the Claweon property as being best suited to his needs. The lot is 60x100 feet, and Is occupied by a small house at the present time. This will be torn down and a four-story hotel erected this spring, at a cost of $50,000. The hotel will be of pressed brick and stone, and will contain seventy to eighty rooms. These will be arranged both single and- en suite and will all contain running . water. Many of the suites will have private bath. "I will hav plans prepared in a short time for . the hotel," said Mr. Wey Wednesday morning, "and when It is finished it will be the finest family hotel west of Chicago. Every modem convenience con-venience will be placed In the house, and the comfort of the guests will be the first consideration. . "I completed the purchase of the Clawson property Tuesday and the deed will be recorded some time today. I have been looking for a site for a hotel of this sort for several months, and have had many under consideration, but tho place at First and State seemed to me to be the most Ideally located for my purpose. "It is probable that work on the hotel will begin this spring, but In any event It will be ready for occupancy by next January." |
