Show BOARD IN FAVOR OF NIGHT SCHOOL The Board of Education, at Us regular meeting Tuesday night, adopted a resolution, reso-lution, at the request of the Committee on Teachers and Schools,- providing that no pupil shall be allowed to be nbsent from school during regular sessions, to take music, drawing or other lessons, or to attend at-tend a matinee. The board also passed another resolution resolu-tion requiring pupils to cover their books within three days. If the books are not covered in that time they are to be takn up by the teachers and the nrRllgnoe of the pupil reported to the principal of the school. The special committee comprising Members Mem-bers Thomas, Edwards and t"ummins. appointed to Investigate the advislbility of establishing a night school i-rported favorably. It was recommended that such a school be established in the Fremont school building; that the Superintendent of Schools be Instrueted to prepare a course of study, and that $."it0 be appropriated appro-priated to defray the expenses of the school. The matter was referred to the 1 committee of the whole. j |
