Show New Institution Needed. - The need of a State institution for the care of feeble-minded persons was made evident yesterday during the hearing of insanity charges against Miss Emm Slney. She was examined in Judge Armstrong's Arm-strong's court yesterday by County Physician Phy-sician Whitney and Assistant County Physician Osterman. After hearing the evidence the physicians declared that she was not Insane, but was feeble minded. mind-ed. At present there Is no place In Utah for the care of such" persons. As the woman wo-man could not be adjudged insane the court was obliged to discharge her. "There should be a place provided for such persons," per-sons," said Judge Armstrong. "It Is not right to allow persons who are Irresponsible Irresponsi-ble to roam about. Some sort of an institution in-stitution will have to be provided sooner or later for the care of the feeble minded of the State." |
