Show JUNIOR DAY PLAN -ADOPTEDATCRANITE For the first time In school history Junior day waa observed at Granite High school yesterday, when 350 eighth and ninth grade puplla of (iranlte district dis-trict attended the high school and were conducted through the Institution In anticipation of becoming enrolled there next year. High School day. one upon which high school seniors spend the day at the University of Utah getting acquainted ac-quainted with the school, fs an annual event and waa taken ss a model upon which Junior day was patterned. The visitors assembled In the auditorium audi-torium t o'clock and were greeted by Principal D. J. Thurman. They were then conducted through the school by senior students aa guides. A program was rendered in their honor In the auditorium at 10 o'clock. At this time a reading contest between the Cyprus and the Irving school waa staged, the latter winning, Emily Flowers Flow-ers and Thelma Ulbsun composed the winning team. j In a spelling contest between the i Blaine and Carlisle schools, the Blaine school won the pennant, and the Sherman Sher-man bchool won in a debate with the Granite Junior High school team. An esthetic dance program by the girla. swimming for the boys, and a track meet, were features of the afternoon's after-noon's entertainment. |
