Sixth ward, which holds a three-game three-game lead over their nearest rivals, riv-als, can sew up the title by winning win-ning their games. On the other hand, should they drop both contests, con-tests, they would have to win their remaining two games to take the crown. Tonight's Schedule . . . Three games are on schedule for tonight, all three of which promise prom-ise to be good games. At 7 p. m., Second and Sixth will play in what is expected to be one of the top games of the evening. Second came close to upsetting the Sixth ( in their last meeting and may tip : the league leaders tonight. A real , contest is in store when First and Third battle at 8 p. m. First can remain in second place by a win over Third. Fifth and Mapleton clash in the night's finals in what may be another close game. Saturday's Schedule . . . Facing their most hectic week's schedule, the leading Sixth warders ward-ers will face the Third in the first game of the evening, Saturday, Jan. 25th. Fifth and Fourth- will clash for the cellar spot in the 8 o'clock game with the other feature fea-ture game scheduled at 9 o'clock between Second and Mapleton. All three games should be close and interesting contests. Last Week's Results ... In one of the league's mild upsets, up-sets, First tipped a favored Second Sec-ond Ward five last Thursday night 38-42 in a well-played game. Led by Benny and Kenny Olsen and Jarvis, the First put up one of its best games to defeat Second. Johnson, with 18 counters for Second, was the big factor in the scoring column for the losers. First led 18-16 at half-time. Ray Clark with 20 points, led the Sixth ward in a 50-31 win over Fourth in the second game of the evening. Johnson counted 12 for the losers. In the final game of the evening, Mapleton defeated Third dn a thriller, 35-32. Hansen and Bennett, with 9 and 7 points, led the winners while Teasdale with 16 and Sargent with 11, counted highest for Third. Saturday night Third tipped Fourth with a 10-point margin, 36-46 with Teasdale enjoying a 21-point 21-point scoring spree for Third. Nielson Niel-son dunked 13. For Fourth, scoring scor-ing was pretty evenly divided. Sixth, thanks to the basket dunking dunk-ing of Ray Miller, who singly counted two more points than his opponents, defeated First 41-21. B. Olsen and Jarvis with 8 and 7 points, were high for the losers. Second defeated Fifth in the final game of the evening 39-18 with Childs and Johnson counting 15 and 12 points respectively for Second.
