Show CHAMBER DISCUSSES PROJECTS AND MEMBERSHIP DRIVE Several projects to be taken up by1 the Chamber of Commerce in the very near future, together with i plans for the current membership drive, were discussed at a breakfast break-fast Monday morning at Valley Tavern, attended by board members mem-bers and the membership committee commit-tee of the chamber. J. Y. Bearnson discussed plans for the proposed armory building in Springville and told of advantages advan-tages an armory would bring to Uie city, stating that it would mean an annual income of approximately approxi-mately $30,000. It was announced that members of the membership committee this week would contact prospective members for the annual membership member-ship banquet scheduled for Wednesday, Wed-nesday, January 29. Included among projects on which the chamber proposes to work during the coming year are: Garbage disposal, improved public utilities, legislative programs, and long-range projects including an oiled highway to Balsam Park, a city recreation area in Kelly's Grove, and the establishment of new industries as soon as building materials are available. |
