Show INITIAL PLANS LAUNCHED FOR 1947 ART SHOW Invitations Go Out To Prospective Artists With Facts On Exhibit Letters inviting prominent artists ar-tists throughout the country to exhibit ex-hibit paintings in the Springville high school annual Art Show in April, are being sent out this week according to members of the Art committee. The April exhibit this year will be Springville's major event in observance ob-servance of the centennial year and is expected ito be one of the largest events in the state in connection con-nection with centennial celebrations. celebra-tions. Included with the letters going out to prospective exhibitors, are folders containing facts of interest about the Art exhibit. The folder states the time of the opening and among other notes, states that : artists are invited to send not more than three canvasses which must be here by March 20. This year, according to information infor-mation on the folder, one gallery will be devoted to the display of paintings of smaller dimensions or those suitable in size and price for the ordinary home. This, is is stated, stat-ed, is being done with a hope that examples of the finest American art may be placed in hundreds of Utah homes. The folder also contains miniature minia-ture reproductions of eight fine pictures which are a part of the permanent collection, together with a picture of the Springville Art building. Shortly after the invitations go out to the artists, it is expected that paintings will begin arriving and definite plans will be formulated formu-lated for the big 1947 Art event. |
