Gunnell and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., enroute to Davenport, Iowa, to visit friends and relatives, stopped for several days to visit Mr. Gunnell's, parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Con-over Con-over at their ranch home in Hobble Hob-ble Creek canyon. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Brown visited visit-ed in Springville Sunday with relatives and friends. Mrs. Brown was the former Minnie Mineray of this city. Mrs. Adelaide Chase Dalton of Los Angeles, Calif., and her daughters daugh-ters Mrs. Miriam Drew, also of Los Angeles and Mrs. Elnora Shoupe of Phoenix, Ariz., returned return-ed to their homes Sunday following follow-ing a week's visit with Mrs. Chase's sister, Mrs. Mary J. Fin-ley Fin-ley and other relatives and friends in Springville. Mrs. Dalton is a former resident of this city. Mrs. Jane Chase Crawford of Ogden visited recently at the home of Mrs. Mary Jane Finley and with other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mack Sanford and five children of San Bernardino, Bernar-dino, Calif., have been spending the past two weeks in Springville with Mrs. Sanford's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Fox. Mrs. Sanford San-ford will be remembered as the former Helen Fox. The Sanfords have also visited other relatives and friends here and in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Byron Hardy of Portland, Oreg., spent two days of the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. Spring-ville. They came especially for the funeral services of their brother-in-law, Athus Johnson, and were accompanied home by Mr. Hardy's Har-dy's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jordan, who spent a short time at Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Orwin Bird of Denver, Colo., have been visiting Mr. Bird's mother, Mrs.' Myrtle Bird and other relatives and friends at Mapleton. Donald Bird has returned to Denver after visiting visit-ing his mother also. Mrs. Anna Erickson of Salt Lake City, is visiting her daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Amanda Binks and Mrs. Lily Hopla at Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Mackley of Mapleton, returned to Oakland, Calif., with - their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Woofington, who have been visiting visit-ing at Mapleton. Mrs. Robert Bird and daughter, Diana, of Mapleton, have been visiting relatives and friends in Idaho. Louise Butler of Kamas is spending a week's vacation with Carol and Ludean Pyper in Springville. Spring-ville. Marlene Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen B. Wright, has returned to her home in Hurricane Hurri-cane after spending two week?, with her grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Crandall and other relatives and friends in Spingville. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bird, accompanied accom-panied by Mr. and Mrs. Miles Taylor of Salt Lake City, have just returned from an enjoyable trip through the Northwest and California. They left Springville July 9, going to Arco, Ida., where they . visited Mr. and Mrs. Will Rothwell. They then went to Portland, Port-land, Ore., and spent a short time with Mr. Bird's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Jack (Elaine Bird), Traveling down the coast, they visited Mrs. Bird's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Haycock, f o m e r Springville residents, living at San Bruno, Calif. They visited many places of interest in California and returned home by way of Nevada, arriving home Sunday. A group of relatives and friends enioved the week-end on a fishing trip to Wolf Creek, returning home by way of Duchesne. Included In-cluded in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Wally Gurr, Mr. and Mrs. Tad Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Wray Nelson Nel-son Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Naylor. Mr and Mrs. Robert B. Harrison Harri-son and two sons, Bobbie and Davis of Washington, D. C, are spending a month's vacation in Utah with Mr. Harrison s parents, Mr and Mrs. George W. Harrison and other relatives and friends. |
