Show M.I.A. PRESENTS FINE PROGRAMS DURING CONFERENCE Admonishing , the members of the church to so live that others may profit by their example, Elder El-der Antoine Ivinn of the First Council of Seventies, spoke at the various sessions of Kolob stake quarterly conference held Saturday Satur-day evening and Sunday in the Fourth ward chapel. Also representing repre-senting the church general authorities au-thorities at the conference was Wm. E. Ryberg of the welfare committee. Elder Ryberg explained the welfare wel-fare program in regard to its various var-ious functions, and termed it one of the most far-reaching and important im-portant projects of the church. The' conference sessions were each marked with a record attendance atten-dance and were held under direction direc-tion of Pres. Ernest A. Strong. The M. I. A. presented two outstanding out-standing programs during the conference. , The meetings began Saturday evening with a priesthood leadership leader-ship meeting which was continued Sunday forenoon. The M.I.A. was in charge of the Sunday forenoon meeting for mothers and daughters and was featured a well arranged program pro-gram in which several took part. Mrs. Emil Ostlund, counselor, conducted. con-ducted. ' The closing session was also under un-der direction of the M.I.A. and presented especially to honor ser- ' vicemen. Several fine musical ' numbers presented by the Palmyra I and Kolob stake girls' choruses featured the occasion. Howard Salisbury Sal-isbury was the principal speaker, relating a number of interesting experiences he had while serving in China, where he also did much missionary work. Glenn Holley, of Mapleton, Y.M.M.I.A. superintendent, superinten-dent, presided at the closing meeting. |
