Show Legion Auxiliary Hears Fine Talk The American Legion Auxiliary, under direction of Mrs. Ruby Christensen, president, conducted their June meeting on Wednesday evening of the past week at Memorial Mem-orial hall. Featuring the program was an informative talk on the Taft-Hartley bill by Mrs. Vera Perham. Mrs. Perham pointed out the benefits of the bill to the employee as well as the employer and explained how it functioned for each. The program also included vocal selections by Mrs. Valetta - Fullmer, Full-mer, accompanied by Miss Dorothy Doro-thy Cranmer. Mrs. Hazel Roylance reported on the poppy sales stating stat-ing that Springville's quota was sold by 11 a. m., the Saturday preceding pre-ceding Memorial day. Mrs. Cleon-da Cleon-da Miner reported on the work done by a group from the Auxiliary Auxili-ary at the Veterans' hospital in Salt Lake, and arrangements were made for another group to go on Thursday. Members from the Auxiliary Aux-iliary volunteer regularly to do work at the hospital including the making of bandages and mending. President Christensen reported on the district convention held at Santaquin. During the evening, it was decided de-cided that the newly elected unit 1 officers should go to the state convention at Ogden as delegates with Mrs. Christensen, unit president, presi-dent, chairman. Several alternates were selected including Mrs. Clay Beesley, Mrs. Olive Miller, Mrs. Harlan Boyer, Mrs. Floss Phillips, Mrs. Thelma Clark, Mrs. Bird Brown. It was decided also to dispense with the July and August meetings. meet-ings. The officers nominated at the May meeting were elected by acclamation. Concluding the meeting refreshments refresh-ments were served by the hostesses, hostess-es, Mrs. Aleen Price, Mrs. Leah Jones and Mrs. Marjorie Frand-sen. |
