Show , Many Farm Wells Fail j To Pass Purity Test Is your well, water fit to drink? In one recent survey in one county, coun-ty, water from seven out of every 10 wells tested would not pass a standard purity test. The U. S. Department of Agriculture Agri-culture reports that three out of four wells in the entire country maybe unsafe. The water may not be polluted now, but could be at any time.- That doesn't mean that every unsafe well is a source of typhoid. It may mean that it is a source of dysentery, summer complaint, or other diseases or is in such condition that it could be. If you want to make sure you have a safe source of drinking water, write to your State Health Department at your state capital. Find out whether it has a bulletin on safe wells, or where you can get one. Find out also how you can get your water test for purity, pur-ity, then do it. The results might surprise you. Anyway, what could you lose ? |
