Show LOCAL NAVYMAN ' IS PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANT Qucntin Fletcher, son of Mrs. Mae Fletcher of this city, has been commissioned a lieutenant In the navy, according- to word received here. The commission of lieutenant lieuten-ant in the navy is the same as captain cap-tain in the army, it is stated. Lt. Fletcher enlisted in the naval nav-al reserve in June, 1941, and was sent in July of the same year to the U. S. Military academy at Annapolis, An-napolis, Md. After completing' his course there he was transferred to New York where he is now stationed. sta-tioned. A graduate of the local high school, Lt. Fletcher received his degree in civil engineering at the U. S. A. C, Logan. He is affiliated affiliat-ed with the National Society of Civil Engineers. He has a sister Merle in the WAACS, and a brother, broth-er, W. Reed Fletcher, who is taking tak-ing a thirteen weeks' course in mechanics, stationed at Fort Eus-tis, Eus-tis, Virginia. |
