W. Clyde has designated Monday, April Ap-ril 12, as Clean-up Day in Springville and urgently requests all citizens to take part in raking and clean- . - - ' .. fllL i - ..... ,s5f??r. 1 , "iTI!---- :ng their yards and thereby making mak-ing the city a more beautiful place in which to live. It is planned to have schools and business houses closed during the forenoon so that everyone may participate in clean-up activities. As has been the custom in previous prev-ious years, students in the various classes will rake the streets, and the debris will be hauled away by city trucks and also trucks manned by members of the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. A call is also being sent out to anyone with a truck to assist with the clean-up. Victor Frandsen of the city council has been appointed chairman chair-man of the Clean-up Day, and states that the various civic groups of the town, including the Kiwanis club, the Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, are cooperating in efforts to clear the town of waste and unsightly debris, on this day. During the Clean-up Day, citizens citi-zens are asked to rake their yards and do other work about their homes to make them more attractive. attrac-tive. The Clean-up campaign is initiated initi-ated not only to improve the appearance ap-pearance of the town but to make it a more healthful and desirable place to reside. Mr. Frandsen also further stated that if Monday should happen to be a stormy day, schools will be opened as usual as will all business busi-ness houses. It is decided that if school is to be held, the bell at the Community church will ring at 8:30 a. m., and a Clean-up Day will be set for a later date. |
