Show Senior Chamber To Install New Officers Chairmen Named For Installation And Plans For New Homes For Defense Workers Taken Up At Meeting Of Retiring Officers The Springville Chamber of Commerce will conduct con-duct their annual installation banquet and program on Friday, April 16, at Memorial Hall, it was an- nounced this week following a meeting of the retiring officers and members of the board of directors. di-rectors. Dean Stewart was appointed decoration chairman chair-man and Gladys Nielsen, secretary, to be in charge of invitations. C. G. The meeting of the executive officers also featured a discussion of several projects to provide new homes for the many new people who are coming here to work on defense projects. There is a proposed project going go-ing forward through which fourteen four-teen new homes will be constructed, construct-ed, with contractors awaiting completion com-pletion of preliminary arrangements. arrange-ments. The Chamber of Commerce officer offi-cer pointed out at the meeting that certain obstacles must be cleared up before proposed projects could be initiated. A committee to work on the obstacles and contact individuals indi-viduals concerned with the development, devel-opment, was appointed by the Chamber. Dr. George A. Anderson, retiring retir-ing president of the Chamber, also pointed out that the government has a plan by which homes now vacant might be converted by the government into fine living quarters, quar-ters, with the property owners to be compensated and remodeling expenses paid by the government.
