One almost unopposed un-opposed American contingent has pressed beyond Gafsa to take El Guettar on the road to Gabes, northern key to the vice, wliile a second Yank column aims at Sened and the rail line to Sfax. Rommel is entrenched in hills west of the Mareth line, where the 8th Army is attacking. The Allies are holding in the Sidi Bou Zid area. |
