Show Home Culture Club By Mrs. Mary Bird Home Culture club was organized organ-ized and federated in 1901. Its object has been a higher intellectual in-tellectual and moral development of its members and to encourage any work for the improvement of the community. During its earlier years, Home Culture made yearly contributions to the college loan fund, Red Cross, Easter socials, etc., and later war-time activities, including includ-ing liberty bonds, leaders in Red Cross work from out city and various var-ious other types. Always enthusiastic art patrons, pat-rons, members of Home Culture presented a painting of Dr. Geo. Smart to' the Art Collection in 192 5, as well as making yearly contributions. Home Culture was the first club to have their name inscribed on the bronze plaque which hangs in the hallway entrance en-trance to the Art building. |
