Show Red Devils, Sortli Emery Meet Here ' Tonight In Practice Tilt 4 Game To Start At 8 O'clock In Local Gym; Red Devils Play At Ileber Saturday And Bingham Here Wednesday Coach DelMoine Christcnsen's Red Devils will play host to the visiting North Emery basketeers tonight when the two teams meet on the local court at 8 p. m., in a practice game. The main game will be preceded by a Soph-4 omore-Freshman battle at 7 p. m. Although little is known about the North Emery club, the game should be a good one. Saturday, Dec. 9, the Red Devils Dev-ils will travel to Heber where they will tangle with the 1944 B state champions. Wasatch High has already showed plenty of power pow-er in the hoop sport by a decisive victory and should give the Red Devils plenty to think about in Saturday's battle. , Next Wednesday, December 13, Springville will meet Bingham in the Springville gym at 8 o'clock. Eingham fielded a strong team last year and fans will remember the Springville-Bingham postseason post-season game last year which ended end-ed 42-39 for the Red Devils. Wednesday's Wed-nesday's game is expected to bo a good, closely-fought battle. Coach Christensen has cut his squad to twelve men: Capt. Ben-Ty Ben-Ty Olson, Ray Miller, J. Reed Bird, Martin Reed, Russell Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, Roy Weight, Ardeen Childs, Dick Haymond, Oral Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, Jay Diamond Hal Eg-gertsen Eg-gertsen and Kent Miner. The latter lat-ter two are Sophomores with five Juniors and five Seniors complet- ing me rosier. Last Thursday night, the Red Devils played the Class A state champions of Provo High in the Provo gym and came out on the short end of a 41-25 score. Provo took a commanding 19-4 lead in the first quarter which coasted them on to their victory. Joe Weight, Provo's all-state center, played a good game for Provo, scoring 14 points while his teammate, team-mate, Brinkerhoff, counted 13. Ray Miller scored equally high with his opponent, ringing the hoop for 14 tallies. Coach 'Christensen 'Chris-tensen tried several combinations on the forward line, which is the - .Springville 64 dollar puzzler, but could not find a scoring combination combina-tion that could cope with the high riding Bulldogs.
