Show In Our Town... LOIS MENZIES Miss Lois Menzies is our new English teacher at the S. H. S. She is a native of Provo, a graduate grad-uate of B. Y. U., has taught school for two years f Preston, Idaho) and is well along in her first year in Springville. The foregoing facts represent the sum total of a thirty thir-ty minute interview and obviously not enough to fill a column. What she did not tell me and what is really important, would fill several columns. Lois Menzies is as Scottish as Robert Burns, The Lady of the Lake, and oatmeal, oat-meal, and very, very lovely with just enough ice in her eyes to keep the wolves at bay. She took on quite a job here in Springville in taking Floss Ilar-mer's Ilar-mer's place. Floss is one of our very favorite persons, and one who telerated no monkey business in her English class. When Paul Walker tells me that Lois is doing a grand job, I know he means it. Paul is about as generous with orchids as I am with curls. Our only criticism is that Lois continues to live in Provo, which means that no one but her own students has a chance of really knowing her and we can't all go back to High School. |
