Show BLOOD PLASMA NOT SOLD TO WOUNDED MEN It is difficult to understand how any substantial number of American citizens could believe the rumor that blood plasma is being sold to wounded fighting men. .Nevertheless, tne President took cognizance of the circulation of this story, branding it an "unqualified "unqual-ified falsehood," and advising that "persons spreading such rumors should be reported to the FBI." Considerable publicity has been given to the need for blood donations dona-tions and the rumor was evidently evident-ly designed to dampen the ardor of prospective donors. Certainly, intelligent minds, unclouded by suspicion or prejudice, would not pay any attention to ' such a rumor, ru-mor, but, when it is being circulated, circu-lated, a prompt and emphatic denial de-nial is necessary. It often happens that in connection con-nection with governmental affairs there is a class of under-cover rumor ru-mor that spreads viciously through a wide area. Often it is almost impossible im-possible to put a finger on the story or to apprehend those circulating circu-lating it. The best defense against such propaganda is the intelligence intelli-gence of the average citizen. |
