Show E Bond Purchases Still Below City Quota Townspeople Urged To Purchase Individual E Bonds To Reach Quota; Total Of All Bonds Now Purchased Is $427,406 Springville has gone over the top in the Sixth war loan so far as the total purchases of all bonds are concerned, but the individual purchases of E bonds is far below the quota set for this city, it was announced on Wednesday. xotai purcnases ior uie town are approximately 5427,406, plus about 25,000 which is expected to date, from payroll deductions from the various industrial plants. However, only about $60,000 in E bonds have been purchased compared com-pared to a quota of $142,000. A large number of townspeople viewed the display of war .equipment .equip-ment when the caravan arrived here last Friday and a number of bonds were sold during the day. A free picture show was also a feature of the day at which a number of people attended. This evening at the Rivoli theater, thea-ter, a special bond premiere is being shown, marking Pearl Harbor Har-bor Day and featuring the picture, pic-ture, "Janie." Those purchasing a bond will be admitted to the show free of charge. A booth is being arranged arrang-ed at the theater and bonds will be sold there all evening. Citizens of this community are urged to get behind the drive and invest whatever possible to help buy war equipment and further the war effort. Urgent calls are being made daily- for more war material and supplies for our men at the front and those training to take their places in the various war zones. It is the least we at home can do to help the boys when we purchase pur-chase an extra bond. |
