Show 'ception On Sunday Will Honor Pioneer Hyrum Perry, pioneer of Sprlng-ville Sprlng-ville and Mapleton, will be honored hon-ored on the occasion of his 85th birthday Sunday, with an open-house open-house reception from three until six p. m., at the home of a son-in-law, John I. Holley, in Mapleton. An invitation is extended to all relatives, friends and neighbors of Mr. Perry to attend. He was born in Springville Aug. 13, 1859, a son of Stephen and Mary Boggs Perry, early Utah pioneers. pio-neers. He lived here until 1885, and then moved to Mapleton, where he has taken an active part in civic, religious and educational affairs for many years. He was chairman of the Old Folks committee of Mapleton for eighteen years, and was one of the firpt school trustees from that district Early in his life, he engaged en-gaged in railroad construction and later farmed. He retired a few years ago but is still very active for his age, and does considerable work about his home and farm. Mr. Perry has filled two L. D. S. missions, one in 1909 and one in 1918. His wife, Mrs. Luella R. Perry, whom he married in March, 1884, died about eight years ago. He has a daughter, Mrs. Reva Curtis at Nephi, also seven grandchildren grand-children and six great-grandchildren. |
