Show Clothing-Paper Drive Termed Successful Paper Collection Totals 11,240 Pounds While Clothing Would Fill Half Of Freight Cars, Officers In Charge Reported The Russian Relief drive in Springville, conducted in connection connec-tion with a waste paper salvage, was termed very successful by members mem-bers of the committee in charge of the campaign. a total or 11,240 pounds or paper was collected during the day in Springville, and sent to Pro-vo Pro-vo where it was to be shipped to its destination. The exact amount of clothing in pounds was not determined but it was estimated that the collection collec-tion would fill half of a freight car. Officers in charge of the drive estimated that if every city as large as Springville contributed a similar amount of clothing, there would be few Russians ' go ' cold this winter. The clothing drive was under direction of Mrs. Olive Miller and Alma Miner, of the Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary and Legion, and they announce an-nounce that if there are other pieces of clothing to be contributed, contribu-ted, they will be received all during dur-ing this week if placed in the large box in front of Memorial hall. |
