Show FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR VICTIM OF GUN ACCIDENT A game of cops and robbers had a tragic ending for a local family Monday night, when Bill Devenish, 10, accidentally shot and killed his sister, Essie Mae Devenish, Deven-ish, 12, with a loaded .38 revolver, according to Sheriff Theron S. Hall, who investigated. Four children were playing in front of the Devenish home while Mr. and Mrs. William R. Devenish attended a movie. Bill went to a clothes closet and removed the revolver re-volver which he said he didn't think was loaded. He aimed straight at his 12-year-old sister's back and pulled the trigger. Dr. Jesse J. Weight of Provo, who was called to the scene, said she was killed instantly. Essie Mae was born June 17, 1932, in Salt Lake, a daughter of William R. and Genevieve Johnson Devenish.
