Show J AYCEES ANNOUNCE CLOSE OF INDUCTION MEETS Tihe pre-induction information meetings which have been sponsored spon-sored by the Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce from April through August, have been discontinued, discon-tinued, it was announced Wednesday, Wednes-day, but if anyone desires any information in-formation on induction problems, they are asked to contact members mem-bers of the Jaycees in charge of the project. The meetings were sponsored by the Jaycees and the programs were under direction of the Utah State Council of defense. They were attended by approximately 150 men who were eligible for induction, induc-tion, together with about the same number of their families and others interested. The value of the meetings was seen in the reduction of the number num-ber of complaints in regard to non-receivable allotments, it was stated. The program, furnished by the Ninth Service Command, featured films on the Navy and Army and were the means of acquainting inductees in-ductees with the procedure and assisted them in obtaining the best possible classification as well as the branch of service in which they desired to serve. The meeting project was under the supervision of Wallace Pat-' rick and Charles Straw. |
