Show VISITORS Here and There Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Brown, Mr., and Mrs. Leo Weight, and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Brown were in Gunnison Gunni-son on Saturday to attend funeral services for Mrs. Brown's brother, Arthur Metcalf. m Mrs. Retta Harmer, Dorothy Harmer, and Edith Nash visited with Mrs. Melvin Weenig in Ogden last week. Edward L. Christensen, instructor instruc-tor in typing and shorthand at the few years, accompaneid by Mrs. Christensen, left Friday for St. George, where he has accepted a teaching position at the Dixie Junior Jun-ior college for the coming year. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wheeler of Tacoma, Wash., visited the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Roylance and other relatives rela-tives and friends in Springville. Miss Shirley Fullmer has re-j turned home from Los Angeles, where she has been working for the past few months at the Comp-ton Comp-ton Tower Sweet shop. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cudlep and son, Russell, of Alhambra, California, Cali-fornia, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conover last week-end. Mrs. Melba Scalmanini and son of San Francisco, Calif., is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Roylance, and other relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Salisbury, their two children, and Howard Salisbury, spent a few days of the past week vacationing in Sun Valley, Val-ley, Idaho. Clara Harmer has just returned from a two weeks' vacation trip to Los Angeles, where she visited with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Harmer. M. W. Erdmann of Kent, Wash-, Wash-, ington, visited here this week with his mother, Mrs. Augusta Erdmann, Erd-mann, and also with other relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. Erdmann is en route to Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vane and their daughter, Marilyn, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Phillips Phil-lips and son, Billy, spent Monday at Evanston, Wyoming, and Bear Lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle of Tooele, visited a few days of the past week with relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Childs have gone to Billings, Montana, to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Best spent Monday visiting in Price with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson. Immediate family members of the Best family, numbering approximately ap-proximately twenty-five, were visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Best in Ogden Sunday. June Murdock, who has been vacationing va-cationing at the Murdock ranch as a guest of her grandmother, Mrs. Charles Conover, has returned to her home in Los Angeles. Jessie Taylor and son of El Paso, Texas, were Springville and Provo visitors during the past week. Margaret Harmer spent last week visiting friends in the M. I. A. home up Provo canyon. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Hatch of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Emily Hatch, Mrs. Estelle Wixom, Mrs. H. L. Stewart of Shoshone, Idaho, Mrs. Maude H. Benedict of Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Hatfield, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conover Sunday. Miss Shirley Hansen of Salt Lake City spent the week-end visiting vis-iting with her aunt, Mrs. William F. Weight. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fullmer and children have just returned home from Los Angeles, Calif., where they visited their two daughters, Mrs. Emel Mecham and Miss Shirley Shir-ley Fullmer, and also a brother, Lawrence Nelson, in Hollywood. Clyde Chepherd of Thistle has returned home from Los Angeles, where he has been visiting for the past month. Merlene Tew left Friday night for Washington, D. C, where she will enter training as a student dietitian. |
