Show MRS. SOPHIE WING SERVICES HELD Funeral services for Mrs. Sophie Erath Wing, 72, widow of Fred W. Wing, Sr., who died Sunday night of a heart ailment at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Boshard, in Salt Lake City, where she had gone Saturday afternoon, were held Wednesday afternoon in the First ward church. Mrs. Wing was born in Berlin, Germany, December 15, 1868. In 1884 she came to Utah as an L. D. S. convert. Before her marriage in Springville, October 14, 1891, she lived for a time in Payson and Salt Lake City. She had served as a Relief society so-ciety teacher in the First ward. Her husband died several months ago. Six sons and daughters survive: sur-vive: Fred W., Jr., and Joseph S. Wing of Bingham; Mrs. Josie Bird and Arthur Wing, Springville; Mrs. Ida Haycock of Long Beach,' Calif.; and Mrs. Boshard of Salt Lake; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a half-brother and half-sister, Max Kless of Springville and Mrs. Josie Clark of Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, under the direction of the A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. |
