Show Red Cross Opens Drive Monday j Mapleton Asked For Generous Response Town's Quota Set At $800, Based On The Population; Committee Chairmen To Appoint Helpers To Assist With Canvass Based on the population of the town, Mapleton's quota for the Red Cross drive is set at $800, and the drive to collect this amount will get underway on Monday, March 6. Ray Scovil has been appointed general chairman of the drive in Mapleton and he will appoint a corps of committee helpers before the beginning of the drive on Monday. As is the case in every city of the United States, the annual Red Cross quota has been increased more in this drive than in any other previous campaign, due to the increased need of Red Cross service by our fighting forces overseas ov-erseas The Red Cross has done and is doing a commendable work in all countries where war is taking tak-ing its toll, and large funds must be available to do the work, committee com-mittee members point out |
