Palmyra Wildlife federation forwarded- letters Tuesday to Sen. Wallace F. Bennett, Sen. A. V. Watkins and Congressman William A. Dawson. The action is spearheaded by Floyd H. The Utah state fish hatchery is on the east side. The land and water are already in possession of the U. S. department depart-ment of the interior, making the proposed expansion only a matter of building, Commissioner Jones said. The hatchery is fed by a number of underground springs Which converge con-verge into a stream which carries 20 second feet of water. The stream is divided between the state and federal hatcheries. "Utah's popularity as a recreational recrea-tional area is mounting every year. We need the expansion of this federal fed-eral hatchery in order to keep our lakes and streams attractive to local residents and visitors. Other states also are dependent on the hatchery," Mr. Jones said. |
